The NH-U9S is a quiet premium cooler in the classic 9cm format, which continues the tradition of Noctua’s award-winning NH-U9 series. Its asymmetric design with 5 heatpipes allows for further increase in cooling performance as well as better compatibility: Thanks to a surface area of 95x95cm, the cooler hangs on all Intel and most AMD-based boards (also µATX and ITX) neither via the memory banks nor via the PCIe slots. Combined with the compact height of 125mm, this makes the NH-U9S a highly versatile solution with excellent chassis, RAM and PCIe compatibility. The supplied NF-A9 Premium fan ensures excellent running smoothness, the speed of which can be controlled fully automatically via PWM. With a second, optionally available NF-A9 fan, the cooling performance in double-fan operation can be further improved. The all-round high-quality complete package with the proven SecuFirm2™ multi-socket assembly system, Noctua’s renowned NT-H1 thermal grease and full 6 years manufacturer’s warranty make the NH-U9S a thoroughly first-class choice.

The NH-U9S comes from Noctua’s award-winning NH-U series. Launched in 2005, the series is considered a classic of noise-optimized premium cooling and has received more than 800 awards and recommendations from leading international hardware websites and magazines.

S version with better compatibility
Like its large brothers NH-U12S and NH-U14S, the NH-U9S has a revised, slimmer design: While the predecessor NH-U9B SE2 with its two fans has a depth of 120mm, the NH-U9S with its single, more efficient NF-A9 fan measures only 95mm, offering better cooling performance and better compatibility.

100% RAM compatibility
With a footprint of 95x95mm, the NH-U9S does not hang over the RAM slots on current Intel and most AMD boards. This ensures not only easy access to the memory modules, but also full compatibility with modules that have high heat sinks.*

100% compatibility with PCIe cards on ITX
On many Intel LGA115x-based mini-ITX mainboards, the PCIe slot is located close to the 95x95mm socket zone. While larger coolers often block the slot, the 95x95mm NH-U9S guarantees full compatibility with PCIe cards – whether on ATX, microATX or ITX.

NF-A9 Premium fan
The highly optimized system features Noctua’s special AAO frame system as well as advanced aerodynamic design measures such as Flow Acceleration Channels. With its efficiency further increased compared to Noctua’s previous 92mm models, it contributes significantly to the superior cooling performance of the NH-U9S.

PWM support andLow-noise adapter
The NF-A9 92mm fan of the NH-U9S supports PWM for convenient, fully automatic speed control via the mainboard. In addition, the supplied low-noise adapter can reduce the maximum speed from 2000 to 1550rpm to allow even quieter operation.

Optional Dual Fan Operation
The NH-U9S comes with an additional pair of fan clips. This means that a second NF-A9 fan, which is available as an option, can be mounted in double-fan operation to achieve an even better cooling performance. The Y-cable supplied with the optional NF-A9 PWM allows both fans to be operated and controlled on a motherboard connection.

SecuFirm2™ mounting system
Noctuas SecuFirm2™ mounting systems have become synonymous with quality, reliability and ease of use. The NH-U9S’s SecuFirm2™ system supports Intel LGA115x (LGA1150, LGA1151, LGA1155, LGA1156), LGA2011 (LGA2011-0 & LGA2011-3) and AMD (AM3+, AM2+, FM1, FM2, FM2+) and offers perfect contact pressure and maximum mounting comfort on all current sockets.

Compatibility with older and future sockets
The NH-U9S complies with the open SecuFirm™ standard and can be made compatible with the optional NM-I3 mounting kit available free of charge from Noctua to the older sockets LGA1366 and LGA775. As far as technically possible, Noctua will also offer upgrade sets for future sockets.
