Crucial is obviously hit and miss, whatever is left in general though you pay about EUR 100,- more for an average 2TB drive when it comes to M.2s

SAMSUNG has committed to stay in the consumer market but heir prices have also sharply increased as well, that might be more of an cascading effect then pure greed as if your preferred choice is sold out then you go for option 2 until that one is sold out and so on.

Stock levels should become normalized as soon as people are back at work. We will most likely feature the lowest priced items here on the landing page when it comes to M.2s and SSDs.


Our recommendation for strategies for this year when it comes to anything RAM, Storage or GPU related are as follows:

Take the hit when it comes to smaller capacities 256GB & 512GB drives see only a slight increase, a 256GB drive is enough even for Ashes of Creation for example perhaps even GTA6 whenever it comes out.

For 1TB & 2TB drives there might be other brands that you did not consider in the past, we will show some here on the landing page shortly.

For RAM prices it is worth to check at least on ebay what you can get as 2nd Hd. modules, they hardly ever fail just make sure the seller has good, positive feedback % and perhaps run memtest if you have any doubts, there are still issues on some MB / RAM combinations for DDR5 when it comes to supported FSB speeds. So going for a lower speed then planned might be worth considering

For GPUs we'll have to see what happens at the CES which is between 6th and 9th of January 2026 and how that will impact pricing for the rest of the year.
